Lambeth Migration Walk

Migration Museum at The Workshop

Saturday 9 September 2017 | 2pm–5pm Registration free, suggested donation (£10 (adult)/£7 (concession)) Migration Museum at the Workshop 26 Lambeth High Street, London, SE1 7AG Join the Migration Museum and the Little Portugal Project on a guided walk through Lambeth, exploring the borough’s rich migration history as part of the 2017 Lambeth Heritage Festival. This five-mile walk will start from the Migration Museum at The Workshop and end at Brixton station. Along the way, walkers will explore the stories and locations of some of the people who have called Lambeth home over the centuries, from Venetian glassblowers to Irish railwaymen, Dutch artists to Trinidadian activists. Registration via Eventbrite is free, but we invite all participants to make a donation of £10 for adults/£7 for concessions (senior citizens, students, under-18s, registered unemployed and disabled). This will enable us to cover the cost of the walk, and help to support our future events and activities. Walkers will have the opportunity to visit the London Fire Brigade’s Fire Engine Festival, which starts at 10am at The Workshop, before the start of the walk. The festival is free, and features fire engines from across the ages, as well as a wide range of exciting family-friendly activities. Please note that our galleries will be closed for installation of our next exhibition on the day of the walk (Saturday 9 September).
