Rainbow Pilgrims is an archive and oral history project about LGBTQI migrants. To coincide with LGBT history month, it is launching a new travelling pop-up exhibition, which will have its first public showing in the ground floor Community Room at The Workshop this evening. As well as an opportunity to see the new exhibition, visitors will have the chance to immerse themselves in a new audio installation, watch mini documentaries at a pop-up cinema, get creative and make a zine, and have a chat and a drink with the Rainbow Pilgrims team – drinks courtesy of VIVID drinks. Housed in a giant shoebox in the car park outside the main entrance to the Migration Museum at The Workshop from 8–25 February, this brand-new version of A Mile in My Shoes brings together a collection of new audio stories shared by refugees and migrants who have made London their home, from a Nigerian barber to a Syrian dentist. This is your last opportunity to come and walk a mile in someone else’s shoes – literally – while listening to their story. No booking is required, just turn up on the evening – capacity is limited, however, so early arrival is recommended in order to guarantee a slot.
