In the Ciambra, a small Romani community in Calabria, Pio Amato is desperate to grow up fast. He easily slides between the regions’ factions –  Italians, African immigrants and his fellow Romani – and follows his older brother Cosimo everywhere, learning the skills for life on the streets. When Cosimo disappears and things start to go wrong, Pio sets out to prove he’s ready to step into his big brother’s shoes and in the process he must decide if he is truly ready to become a man. Directed by Jonas Carpignano with Martin Scorsese as executive producer, A Ciambra represented Italy for Best Foreign Picture at the Academy Awards. This screening is in collaboration with Peccadillo Pictures. Poster image courtesy of Peccadillo Pictures. Click here to book tickets (via Regent Street Cinema website)
