Homework - an immersive performance

Migration Museum at The Workshop

Friday 5–Saturday 6 July 2019 | 6.30pm–8pm Migration Museum at The Workshop £10 (£5 concessions) – book via DesignMyNight Homework tells the stories of people who have experienced conflict, displacement, and education across east Africa in an immersive theatrical experience. Meet a young man in his barber shop in Kenya as he tries to earn enough money to pay tuition and care for his family; witness a Sudanese mother reuniting with her daughter after her first year at university; glimpse a girl’s imagination that keeps her going while she struggles for education in Uganda. Created by Devika Ranjan and performed by actors with experiences of displacement, the play is based on interview testimony with Windle and Commonwealth Scholars. We regret that the venue for this event is not fully accessible – it is located on the first floor with no step-free access.   Sponsor:
