We’re Hiring: Freelance Social Media Assistant

Are you passionate about using social media as a creative storytelling platform and highlighting personal stories that offer deeply human perspectives on British history?
The Migration Museum is seeking a Freelance Social Media Assistant to help us plan, create, schedule and analyse content that will support the growth of our digital audiences across multiple social media channels.
You will work closely with our Digital Content and Design Officer and the Director of Communications and Engagement to:
– Plan, create and schedule high-quality social media content, including content creation and copy writing
– Monitor and manage comments and engagement
– Analyse and report audience growth and demographics, and success of existing social media projects
– Grow the Museum’s digital audience and brand presence through collabs and swaps
Candidates must have at least one year’s experience in similar social media or digital marketing roles, an excellent understanding of social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok, and proven content creation skills, including image sourcing, creating photo and video content, and copywriting tailored to different audiences and platforms.
This is a flexible/hybrid two days p/w role; however, you will be required to capture some content in-person at museum exhibitions and events in London. These can occur during and/or outside of typical work hours, including evenings/weekends, with time off in lieu.
